Challenge: Managing materials and testing electronics

Developing the assembly process of this box build took planning and talking with experts with different specialities.

Firstly, all parts and materials of the assembly needed to be managed, as well as suppliers for PCBs, PCBAs, mechanical components and other parts.

Because of the large number of parts a thorough management system was essential.

Throughout the assembly, we tested electronics and functionalities in close collaboration with the customer.

In the various testing stages, we found different functionalities that needed adjusting for the box build to function perfectly, just like the customer required and wished for. Here we benefitted highly from our senior production engineer who has many years of experience and is IPC-A-610 certified.

Result: A well-functioning box build

After making intricate work instructions, testing and adjustments, as well as fully functional testing the box build, we manufactured a device that met all the customer's requirements.

Encasing the electronics is an enclosure made by CNC machining. A key factor was that the box build had to have a nice appearance, making anodizing the perfect surface treatment solution. Inside, the box build holds PCBs, cables, and many other electronic components.

With detailed material management and procurement, as well as accurate testing, development, and manufacturing the box build lives up to all needs and has become a vital part of the customer’s camera system.

About the customer

The customer is a leading manufacturer of high-end aerial cameras and systems.

Knowing what their clients are looking for they always deliver aesthetics and uncompromising quality. Their innovative technology ensures that every product embodies the perfect blend of functionality and visual appeal.

Box build assembly – what is it?
